Oooh I love the character pixel art soo much!
As a pixel artist myself I was immediately impressed by the character art, especially the transformations. There's a lot of love and attention there that I appreciate.
Although the game was pretty short I enjoyed it, grabbing ingredients and making double jump and spiderclimb potions was super cool. I enjoyed the mechanic of having to explore as a ghost to light the way then return with your body. Having the little skulls attack you during that form was a great choice.
I wasn't a fan of the attacking back though. Having to actually move with the keyboard to align my shots I would have preferred if it just went where my mouse was. It wasn't a huge issue as the enemies were so easy to beat but it was a little jarring at first.
The crafting system was pretty basic but it worked well, the art for all of this (and the UI in general) was also awesome.
The audio was pretty basic but it did the job. No major comments about that.
The ending was interesting and sets the stage for more. I hope we get to see more in the future.
I appreciate your genuine and thorough feedback! I agree with it all, I'm happy to hear you got to the ending :)
If we do decide to continue this project the first thing worked on will be a full rework of combat into something more engaging, intuitive, and fun!
Thanks again!

Woah, really nice ending. That and the bit that introduces the ghost mechanic. Amazing. Really good story beats. Got my eyebrows raised and wanting more.
I feel the movement could use some work to feel more polished and fun, but that might just be me having high standards for movement in platformers. Also, something minor I didn't like was that shooting a projectile shoots in the direction the player is facing rather than which half of the screen the mouse is clicking in.
I loved the art design of the main character and the general feel of the game's atmosphere. The spider wall climb is so cool that just seeing it in action in a gif made me realize that I needed to play this game.
One thing that might be cool is if making a new potion for the first time added a sort of "recipe" button for it under the crafting menu that you can click and it would automatically craft the potion if you have the ingredients.
Overall, very cool game. Good luck with the Jam, and I hope you decide to continue working on it!
Thank you so much for the genuine comment and feedback. I'm really happy you got to and enjoyed the end :)
I agree on the movement, combat, and craft QoL points! combat is definitely undercooked, we wanted melee and ranged with more depth but it was a lot to animate in that time and we felt the polymorph forms were more important to get right.
recipe book is definitely a great idea we will implement if we go forward with the project.
Again, thank you so much for the kind words and real feedback!
